Paralympic Champions Long and Griswold Garner More Gold Medals for Team USA

16-time Paralympic champion Jessica Long added to her astonishing swimming career with a gold medal in the women's 100-meter butterfly S8 at 1:09.87 at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. Joining her on the medal stand is Russia’s Viktoriia Ishchiulova (1:10.80) and Columbia’s Laura Carolina Gonzalez Rodriguez (1:20.93)


Long is the second most decorated Paralympian in U.S. history and continues to root herself in the history books as she tallied her 29th career

medal, sixth podium appearance in Tokyo and third first-place finish at the Games. 


Robert Griswold captured his second-career gold medal with a thrilling win in the men's 100 butterfly S8 (1:02.03) to beat out Feng Yang from China in second (1:03.20) on Friday night. Griswold is a two-time Paralympian and now carries the honor of three-time Paralympic medalist with a bronze finish in the 100 back S8 in Rio 2016. 


In Tokyo, the New Jersey native secured not just one, but two gold medals as he won the 100 back S8 and also placed 4th in the 200 IM SM8 and 5th in the 400 free S8.
