| | | USA Basketball Announces Six Coach Academies for 2021 |
| Colorado Springs, Colorado (Aug. 13, 2021) – Basketball coaches throughout the United States will have six opportunities to attend a USA Basketball Coach Academy for a full day of professional development that is customized for coaches of all experience levels.
The 2021 USA Basketball Coach Academies will be one-day sessions and will cost $25, with academies in Boston on Sept. 11; Dallas on Sept. 25; Los Angeles on Oct. 2; New York on Oct. 16; Washington, D.C., on Oct. 30; and Minneapolis on Nov. 6.

Launched in 2015, USA Basketball Coach Academies provide valuable insight and education to basketball coaches and administrators. Academy sessions impart the USA Basketball curriculum for a proper skill development path to teach the game to children of all ages and ability levels.
Registration includes a USA Basketball t-shirt, coaching notebook and a boxed lunch.
Each academy is led by 10-time USA Basketball coach of the year Don Showalter, who compiled an incredible 62-0 record as head coach of the USA Basketball Men’s U16 and U17 National Teams, including winning 10-straight gold medals. Showalter is the USA Basketball Youth & Sport Development coach director.
At each academy, guest speakers will focus on their areas of expertise to present on basketball and leadership topics that apply both on and off the court. Attendees will have networking opportunities to meet with one another, as well as with speakers. Participants will be required to wear masks and will be physically distanced.
Sessions at a USA Basketball Coach Academy feature a variety of teaching styles, including player demonstrations, lectures, panel discussions, on court basketball instruction and off court coaching techniques and life skills training.
Attendees must be at least 18 years old to register.
