BREAKING NEWS: Mason and Young Run to Silver and Bronze in Women's 100m T47

Current world record holder Brittni Mason secured the silver medal with a time of 11.97, and teammate Deja Young celebrates bronze with a season-best effort of 12.21 in the women's 100m T47.

Mason was inches away from claiming the

championship slot in a photo-finish just slightly behind Lisbeli Marina Vera Andrade from Venezuela. The first-time Paralympian broke the world record with 11.89 seconds when she first stepped onto the international stage at the Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships.

Young, a two-time Paralympic champion in the 100 and 200 from the Rio Games, captured bronze for her third career medal. Mason and Young return to the starting line for the women’s 200m T47 on Saturday, Sept. 4.
