Two-time Paralympian Roderick Townsend added a silver medal to his collection after recording a 7.43 mark in the men's long jump T46/47 on Tuesday at the Tokyo Stadium. Cuba’s Robiel Yankiel Sol Cervantes topped the podium with a mark of 7.46.
Newcomer Dallas Wise almost registered his second medal with a 7.30 jump grabbing the world’s fourth best mark just behind bronze medalist Nikita Kotukov (7.34) from Russia. Wise already won a silver medal in the men's high jump T47 during his Paralympic debut and shared the podium with Townsend, who took the Paralympic gold medal after breaking his own world record with an impressive jump of 2.15 meters.
