STANFORD, Calif. – No. 3 Stanford men's tennis returned from a two-week break for final exams and picked up right where it left off, earning a 4-0 victory over Pacific Tuesday at Taube Family Tennis Stadium for its seventh consecutive victory.

The Cardinal continued its best start in 16 seasons, matching the 15-1 start of the 2002 team that went on to win 21 matches and reach the second round of the NCAA Championship.

Stanford secured the doubles point over the Tigers in 34 minutes, as Sameer Kumar and Michael Genender picked up a 6-3 win at the No. 1 spot and Timothy Sah and David Wilczynski captured an identical victory at the No. 3 spot.

Sophomore William Genesen, freshman Axel Geller and Wilczynski, the senior, each surrendered just two games, en route to wins in singles action to clinch the match victory.

Genesen finished first, posting a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6. Geller followed with a 6-2, 6-0 victory, playing at the top spot. Moments later, Wilczynski sealed it with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at the No. 4 spot.

Stanford will play Pac-12 matches the rest of the way, traveling to Los Angeles this weekend to face No. 4 UCLA on Friday and No. 14 USC on Saturday.
