Concordia Women's Water Polo Falls to Brown

IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia Women's Water Polo Team faced a tough opponent in the Division I Brown University Bears, dropping the contest 9-3 on Wednesday. Despite outshooting Brown 20-19, the Eagles were held off the board in the first and fourth quarters.

The Bears scored three goals to take a strong lead after the first period. They went on to score two more to open the second before CUI got on the board with 3:55 to play in the half. Dailynn Santoro scored to chip away at the Bears' lead and Brown took a 5-1 advantage into halftime.

After a Brown goal to start the third frame, Corbin Bricks took a pass from Shannon Graham, putting the ball in the back to net to cut the deficit to 6-2 with three minutes remaining in the quarter. The Bears scored two-straight goals before Santoto found Ramsie Haskell who then scored, bringing the score to 8-3 in favor of Brown with 1:04 on the clock.

CUI could not hold Brown who went on to score one more goal in the final period, and dropped the match 9-3.
