Fullerton, CA - Yesterday our men took on Ottawa University-Arizona. They played the first two games of the four game series which continues today at 11:00AM at Amerige Park.

The first game was a long one as the first inning lasted over forty minutes alone. OUAZ jumped ahead first scoring their first two runs of the game but Hope would answer back with six of their own.
OUAZ would hit a three run home run in the second inning that would bring the score closer and the Royals had the lead 6-5. In the third Sam Cohen (SR) and Lee Mutter (SR/La Mesa, CA) would work together to drive in some runs and extend their lead by two more.
After back and fourth Hope would put the nail in the coffin as they scored six in the sixth and five in the seventh and ended up winning game one 22-7 over the Spirit.
Dennis Hildebrandt (FR) was the last Royal to score as he drove in three runs including himself with a blast out to left field.
In game two OUAZ was the first to score again and by the third inning the Royals were down by one. However, Will Davis (JR/Anaheim, CA) had something to say about it as he did it himself and homered to left field and the Royals would tie it up 1-1.
In the fourth inning a Daniel Hawkins (SR) single would drive in a Royal run to give HIU the lead and Lee Mutter would extend that lead with a two run homer of his own and bring the score to 4-1 in favor of the Royals.
With the help of some solid pitching on the mound by Henry Martinez the home team would go on to win this one 4-2. Martinez was outstanding throwing a complete game and struck out eight batters by the end of it.
The Royals and Spirit play again today at 11:00AM for game one and the second will follow shortly after the first to end the four game series.
