LOS ANGELES — The Occidental women's lacrosse team opened up non-conference play with a 12-6 victory over Baldwin Wallace at Jack Kemp Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Alessandra Pelliccia continued her standout play on offense, scoring a game-high four goals and upping her conferene-best total to 21.

Shai Goodman added two goals and two assists, Lauren Di Lella had a goal and an assist, Madisyn Hallare scored two goals and had four draw controls, and Elizabeth Andrews, Isabella Litt and Marie Whitmore all scored one goal.

Oxy got off to a slow start, falling behind 3-2 before Hallare evened the game with a goal with 9 minutes left in the first half. Her score sparked a 7-0 that lasted well into the second half and put the game out of reach.

"We knew we had to come out strong in the second half and knew Baldwin Wallace was going to try to fight back," Oxy head coach Hannah Khin said. "After some key draw controls we were able to get into an offensive rhythm."

The Tigers defended well, led by goalkeeper Neah Bois, who had 12 saves and six ground balls. Emma Barrow played well in her return back to the lineup, along with Corinne Bates, who had five ground balls and three caused turnovers, Emma Rogers and Zoe Edwards.

Season Impact: Oxy improves to 4-2 overall.
Baldwin Wallace falls to 2-3.

Next Game: Oxy is back in action on Monday, playing Marymount (Va.) at 1 p.m. at Jack Kemp Stadium.
