Win series finale 3-1
POMONA, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes capped
three-straight wins over No. 16 Cal Poly Pomona with a 3-1 win on the
road on Sunday afternoon.
Pitching led the way for the Yotes again, as Jeff Kross (1-1) allowed just one run on three hits over six innings. Austyn Coleman, Jackson Gilmore, and Oscar Rauda took it home with one inning each allowing just a hit amongst them. Rauda recorded his fourth save of the year.
David Osuna got CSUSB on the board in the fifth with a solo shot to left. Mando Rodriguez singled home a run in the sixth and Osuna plated another with a single to right-center in the same inning. The Yotes had 10 hits as a team with Osuna getting three and Gabe Chavez hitting 1.000 with four hits.
"What a great team series win this weekend," head coach Mike Nadeau said. "We got four quality starts and our whole staff was great on the weekend. We got timely hitting and played really good defense. AJ Barraza was outstanding filling in for Chavez at second base, as he saved multiple runs today. We are a good team when we put it all together and we need to build off this. I am proud of the team."
