ITA All-American Semis Next

TULSA, Okla. – Sophomore Tom Fawcett moved into the semifinals of the Saint Francis ITA All-American Championships on Saturday with a pair of straight-set victories.

After defeating Auburn's Marco Krickovic 6-4, 6-0, Fawcett trailed 5-4 in the second set against North Carolina's Ronnie Schneider before rallying to claim the win.

By reaching the quarterfinals, Fawcett earns an automatic berth into the USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships scheduled for Nov. 12-15 in New York.

Honored in 2015 as the ITA Northwest Region Rookie of the Year and the Pac-12 Freshman of the
Year, Fawcett led the Cardinal with a 26-12 overall record and 14-7 mark in duals while playing all of his matches at the No. 1 spot. Earning a No. 35 national final ranking, Fawcett also received an at-large berth in the NCAA Singles Championship.

Fawcett captured the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships title last October, becoming first Cardinal player to win the event since Ryan Thacher (2011) and first Stanford freshman to accomplish the feat since KJ Hippensteel (1998).
