Fontana, Calif.- Start off the month by giving back to your community with a Park Clean-Up Day. The clean-up takes place at Mary Vagle Nature Center (11501 Cypress Avenue) on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Duties will consist of spreading mulch and clearing walkways. Staff will be on site with a sign-in sheet and will provide volunteers with a schedule for the day. Rakes, shovels and trash bags will be supplied. Volunteers are asked to dress comfortably and bring closed-toe shoes or boots. Lunch will be provided.
The Park Clean-Up Day is a reoccurring event that takes place at different locations around the city every month throughout the year. If you are unable to attend the clean-up on Saturday, April 13, other clean-up events in 2019 are scheduled for:
- May 11 along the Pacific Electric Trail at Locust and Laurel
- June 8 along the Pacific Electric Trail at Oleander and Cypress
- July 13 along the Pacific Electric Trail at Tamarind and Palmetto
- August 24 at Southridge Park Bird Farm
- September 14 at Jurupa Hills Park
- October 12 along the Pacific Electric Trail at Alder and Laurel
- November 9 along the Pacific Electric Trail at Citrus and Tokay
- December 14 at Southridge Park Bird Farm
