Coast Guard Rescue 2 From Sinking Fishing Vessel Near Bodega Bay
San Francisco — Coast Guard personnel rescued two people aboard a fishing boat that was taking on water near Bodega Bay, Calif., Friday.
Coast Guard Station Bodega Bay received a mayday call at 3:32 p.m. from the 30-foot fishing vessel Yardbird stating the vessel was rapidly taking on water one mile from shore with two people aboard.
A crew from Coast Guard Station Bodega Bay responded to the distress call and came alongside as the fishing vessel capsized and sent the two crewmembers into the water. Station Bodega Bay promptly rescued the crew from the water and transported them to Station Bodega Bay.
The two are currently being evaluated by Bodega Bay Fire Department.
