Ventura, California - Ghost hunter Richard Senate will offer a lecture and tour on The Ghosts of Chinatown. February marks the Chinese Lunar New Year and 2013 ushers in the Year of the Snake! (or year of the water snake). This is the time to enjoy Chinese Cuisine and reflect on the contributions of China to California's History in particular and Ventura. Few know that once we had a thriving Chinatown in Ventura with its own tong house and temple to the Taoist faith. Yes, and it was a quarter that was held in awe by the non-Chinese as a place of mystery and the exotic east. Yes, there were even stories of underground tunnels and Opium Dens and houses of ill-repute! Most of the stories that circulated—were just that—stories. But tales of ghosts do persist even after Chinatown has vanished. These tales and the legends of the New Year will make this tour one you will not forget!
The many books by Mr. Senate will be for sale as well and he will be glad to sign them for his fans.
Recently he has appeared on TV shows Paranormal Challenge, and Ghost Adventures.
