La Habra, California - The Friends of the Children’s Museum at La Habra recently received a first-time grant of $20,000 from the Annenberg Foundation. This unrestricted funding will be used to help sustain and grow The Children’s Museum at La Habra.  “We are thrilled that the Annenberg Foundation chose to invest in us” said Donna “D” Renee Brooks, Executive Director and Chief Development Officer of the Friends of the Children’s Museum.

The Friends of the Children’s Museum at La Habra is the non-profit arm of The Children’s Museum at La Habra. Founded in 1977, The Children’s Museum at La Habra provides hands-on educational cultural exhibits and programs to children ages two through ten. With a mission “to encourage enthusiasm about learning in a hands-on environment that opens the world to even the youngest child”, the museum is a valuable community resource. Receiving up to 90,000 annual visitors, The Children’s Museum at La Habra positively impacts Southern California’s children, their parents and teachers, through science, art and environmental outreach programs to disadvantaged youth, free school tours, family workshops, and unique interactive exhibits.

The Annenberg Foundation is a family foundation that provides funding and support to nonprofit organizations in the United States and globally.  The Annenberg Foundation and its Board of Directors are also directly involved in the community with innovative projects that further its mission to advance public well-being through improved communication.
