...WINTER STORM TO BRING SNOW AND WIND LATE TUESDAY INTO
WEDNESDAY..

.A COLD WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BEGINNING
TUESDAY WITH SEVERAL REINFORCING WAVES CONTINUING INTO THURSDAY.
PRECIPITATION WILL BECOME MORE SHOWERY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.
STRONG UPSLOPE FLOW WILL LIKELY ENHANCE SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION IN
SHASTA COUNTY AND ACROSS THE WESTERN SLOPES OF THE SIERRA
NEVADA...ESPECIALLY LATE TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM TUESDAY TO 7 PM PST
WEDNESDAY ABOVE 3000 FEET...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SACRAMENTO HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING ABOVE 3000 FEET FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM 4 PM TUESDAY TO 7 PM PST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM
WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 6 TO 16 INCHES ABOVE 3000 FEET WITH LOCAL
  AMOUNTS UP TO TWO FEET POSSIBLE ABOVE 4000 FT.

* ELEVATION: ABOVE 3000 FT. MINOR ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE DOWN TO
  2000 FT IN SHASTA COUNTY ON WEDNESDAY.

* TIMING: PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN LATE TUESDAY MORNING AND BECOME
  HEAVIER AND MORE WIDESPREAD TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
  PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO BECOME MORE SHOWERY DURING THE DAY
  ON WEDNESDAY.

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: ALDER SPRINGS...MENDOCINO PASS...AND HIGHEST
  ELEVATIONS OF HIGHWAY 299.

* WINDS: SOUTH 10 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.

* IMPACTS: SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL WITH POTENTIAL FOR BLOWING SNOW
  MAY RESULT IN HAZARDOUS TRAVELING CONDITIONS. LOCAL POWER
  OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE.

WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM
7 PM TUESDAY TO 7 PM PST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO
LONGER IN EFFECT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 2 TO 8 INCHES.

* TIMING: PRECIPITATION WILL START TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND WILL
  BECOME HEAVIER TUESDAY NIGHT. SNOW LEVELS WILL START AROUND 4500
  FT AND DROP TO THE BASIN FLOOR BY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: HIGHWAY 89.

* WINDS: SOUTHWEST 15 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 55 MPH.

* IMPACTS: SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL WITH POTENTIAL FOR BLOWING AND
  DRIFTING SNOW ON ROADWAYS MAY RESULT IN HAZARDOUS TRAVELING
  CONDITIONS. LOCALIZED WHITEOUT CONDITIONS POSSIBLE.
