Oxy Makes Easy Work Of Allegheny

By Jack Brancheau
LOS ANGELES — The Occidental Women's Lacrosse team cruised to victory against Coach Stephanie Mark's former team, the Allegheny Gators 17-7 on Tuesday.
The Tigers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back with six players scoring goals and six players record at least one assist. The Tigers' offense put on a masterful display, scoring 17 goals on 32 shots (23 of which were on goal), drawing nine free position shots, and recording a total of 10 assists.
Slack, who has already been named SCIAC Player of the Week twice this year, had a monster game, netting five goals, recording three assists, and picking up four ground balls.  Junior midfielder Madi Hallare had a big night of the Tigers, scoring three goals and recording one assist.
Sophomore Alessandra Pelliccia and Senior Ciara Byrne were outstanding on offense, both finding the back of the cage three times. Lauren DiLella scored twice and added an assist, and Elizabeth Andrews notched a goal and an assist. Sophomore attacker Marie Whitmore had nice all around game, recording one assist while facilitating the passing for the Tigers.
"It was great to get the win tonight after the team executed the scouting report perfectly," Mark said. "Our ride was relentless, forcing Allegheny into 29 turnovers. Offensively, we were very unselfish. Madisyn Hallare had a career night with four points, and Sierra, Alessandra Pelliccia, Ciara Byrne and Annie Stevens were all big for us."
Annie Stevens, Emma Barrow, and Pelliccia were tremendous on defense for the Tigers, causing a combined 11 turnovers and allowing only 13 shots to reach Tiger' goalies Neah Bois and Katherine Drake
