  1. once again Rami’s signature blunt absurdity gave this movie a clever wit of its own As far as horror movies go I think the new rendition stands on its own merit. And it had to at the advanced screening in Sacramento when the studio surprised the excited fans by announcing that they would be giving away special Evil Dead t-shirts for the premier. But then when they brought them out silently walked past those fans all the way to the back of the line and began handing them to people just arriving and then each person starting from the back of the line. Then when questioned what happened? With blunt absurdity stated they dispersed them in that manner because they might not make it in because they hadn’t been there very long. Then right when the movie was beginning the lucky t-shirt people were asked by the studio rep to please relocate to the press seats they were opening for them so they could see better. I would like to personally say I found it all in bad taste and an unnecessary distraction that was a bit insulting and in no way witty. No one that invested several hours came there for a free t-shirt, a free movie or to feel insulted. They came to enjoy the event together and have fun. I’ve been to a few of these myself and I’m actually going to pay to see it again without the studio’s uncalled for negative distraction that implied that if they just would of just been smart enough to come last minute instead of invested so many hours they could have gotten a t shirt and personally escorted to the best seats in the house too. Why they ever mentioned anything to people they had decided were excluded from any chance of participating???huh/// Those people all deserve an apology.
