Three-time Paralympian and fan-favorite Evan Austin collected his first Paralympic medal with a bronze-medal performance in the men's 400m freestyle S7 on Sunday at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. Austin swam a mark of 4:38.95 to take home the hardware, following a new world record from Israel’s Mark Malyar (4:31.06) and Ukraine’s Andrii Trusov in second (4:35.56).
Austin has already registered a fifth-place finish in the 200m individual medley at the Tokyo Games and will finish out his competition schedule with the men's 50m butterfly S7 on Friday, September 3.
