BREAKING: Hurricane Irma Knocks Out Power To 1.5 Million Plus In Florida

As of now:

Florida Power, Lights Company with 2,991,720, almost 900,000 in Miami-Dade area.

Duke Energy is reporting 137,260.

Tampa Electic is reporting 66,867 customers without power.


Orlando Utilities Commission with 12,763.

As of now:

Florida Power, Lights Company with 2,530,710, almost 900,000 in Miami-Dade area.

Duke Energy is reporting 55,510.

Tampa Electic is reporting 14,712 customers without power.


Orlando Utilities Commission with 3,364.

UPDATE 2:55pm: Latest number of customers without surpasses 2 million in Florida.

As of now:

Florida Power, Lights Company with 1,967,400, almost 900,000 in Miami-Dade area.

Duke Energy is reporting 11,142.

Tampa Electic is reporting 4,946 customers without power.

Orlando Utilities Commission with 201.

BREAKING: Hurricane Irma has knocked out power to more than 1.5 million customers throughout the Florida Power, Lights Company, Duke Energy and Tampa Electic according outages from each company.

More people will likely lose power as Irma continues to move up the west coast of Florida.

Florida Power, Lights Company: 1,571,650 as of 12pm.

Duke Energy: 3,000+

Tampa Electric: 3,323
