Police release timeline of events in the fatal shooting incident at Marysville-Pilchuck High School

Marysville, Washington - Police tonight announced a timeline of the events that unfolded at Marysville-Pilchuck High School this morning:

- The original call to 911 came in at 10:39 a.m. from an anonymous cell phone
- At 10:41 a.m. the Marysville School Resource Officer arrived in the cafeteria
- At 10:43 a.m. it was confirmed that the shooter was down
- At 10:49 a.m. aid from various fire organizations began to enter the scene to provide treatment to any injured
- At 11:00 a.m. Marysville Police Department called for a full SWAT deployment
The Snohomish Multi-Agency Response Team is on scene conducting the incident investigation. The Marysville SWAT team cleared the school at 4:35 p.m., but students who witnessed the incident remained on scene to be interviewed by investigators.

Marysville Police confirmed two fatalities in today’s shooting, one of which is the shooter from a
self-inflicted gunshot wound. Two female patients are being treated in the ICU at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett; two male patients are being treated at Harborview Medical Center, also in the ICU. All of those injured in the shooting are under the age of 18.

Roads near the high school remain closed for the investigation. Currently closed are 108th St NE between 54th Ave NE and the school entrance, and 55th Ave NE, 57th Ave NE, and 58th Dr NE south of 108th Ave NE. The entrance to Marysville Pilchuck High School is also closed.

Extracurricular activities for the entire Marysville School District are canceled this weekend, including this weekend’s playoff football game between Marysville Pilchuck and Oak Harbor. The entire Marysville-Pilchuck campus, including the pool, will also be closed this weekend.

Marysville School District has closed Marysville-Pilchuck High School for the week of October 27th but will continue to evaluate that decision. Parents are advised to monitor the Marysville School District website for further information on closures and extracurricular activities.

Counselors will be available tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and tomorrow afternoon from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Marysville School District office. Counseling is also being offered by the Tulalip Tribes tonight at the Don Hatch gym.
