Coast Guard responds to collision near Raccoon Straights
SAN FRANCISCO - The Coast Guard is responding to a collision between a Golden Gate Ferry and a 22-foot pleasure craft in the Raccoon Straits that left two people injured today.
At approximately 4:30 this afternoon, a 25-foot response boat from Station Golden Gate arrived on scene and discovered two people injured on the pleasure craft. Those two injured people were taken to shore by boat and transported to a nearby hospital by emergency medical personnel.
The Golden Gate Ferry continued to its destination of Pier 1 Embarcadero in San Francisco.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
