“Good Things, a living room musical” an original play comes to Sutter Street Theatre.

Good Things, a living room musical

Music, lyrics and story by Emma Harlow

Directed by Payton Gobielle

Edited by Jesse Winton and Payton Gobielle

Folsom, California - This original musical is the story of a group of young adults who must learn how to navigate mental illness and tragedy by reminding each other where to find the “Good Things” in life. This show aims to begin a discussion about the real obstacles we face every day. There are strong themes of drug abuse and suicide.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, in 2017, an estimated 3.2 million adolescents aged 12 to 17 in the United States had at least one major depressive episode. This number represented 13.3% of the U.S. population aged 12 to 17. The prevalence of major depressive episodes was higher among adolescent females (20.0%) compared to males (6.8%). While suicide isn’t always linked to depression, most times, mental health is a major factor. Currently, suicide is the second leading cause of death for children, adolescents, and young adults age 5-to-24-year-olds

The musicals continue to receive outstanding critical acclaim and attract audiences young and old.

DUI Checkpoint resulted in 4 arrests

Fontana, California - Fontana Police Department arrested an individual for DUI and three individuals on their outstanding warrants while conducting a DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint on Saturday, November 16, 2019. The checkpoint was located on Cherry and Santa Ana, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.

In addition, 28 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license and 11 additional citations were issued.

DUI Checkpoints are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests.
Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to be approximately $13,500. This includes fines, fees, DUI classes, license suspension and other expenses not to mention possible jail time.

Fontana Police Department reminds drivers that “DUI Doesn’t Just Mean Booze.” Prescription drugs, particularly those with a driving or operating machinery warning on the label, can impair and result in a DUI. Marijuana can also be impairing, especially in combination with alcohol or other drugs.

Fontana Police Department will be conducting additional DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoints and DUI Saturation Patrols throughout the year in our ongoing commitment to take suspected impaired drivers off our streets and highways, ultimately lowering the risk for deaths and injuries.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Sa
